This is a therapeutic technique that is similar to chiropractic care in humans. It involves a motion palpation exam to evaluate the motion of each joint for the appropriate movement. If a restriction is found in a joint, then a high velocity low amplitude (HVLA) adjustment is made to release the restriction. This is commonly used for musculoskeletal conditions such as back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, and it often helps with aggressive behavioral issues if they are due to pain.
